About Us

The JCB Academy is a non-selective state-funded Academy for learners aged 13 to 19, and an accredited apprenticeship training provider. Drawing learners from across an 18-mile radius—including Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, Derby, Leek, Ashbourne, and Burton upon Trent—JCBA offers a distinctive, business-focused education.

As a University Technical College (UTC), The JCB Academy is built to work in close partnership with industry, providing learners with meaningful insight into the world of work and preparing them for successful careers. JCBA excels in this mission. At any given time, it collaborates with more than ten leading engineering and business organisations to co-design and deliver project-based learning rooted in real-world challenges.

Our industry partners—past and present—include Bentley, Bosch Rexroth, Toyota, Jaguar Land Rover, Rolls-Royce, The HEX Group, National Grid, Network Rail, Marston’s, Merlin Entertainments (Alton Towers), Michelin, Continental Engineering Services, Orbital Gas Systems, and of course, JCB. These partnerships result in exceptional learning experiences that inspire and equip our learners for the future.
